Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued orders to remove the blockade from the Shambhu border. The order has been passed as farmers have blocked the road connecting Punjab and Haryana as a part of their agitation. Complete order of the court about same will be available soon.
On a strict note, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the administration to open the Shambhu border within one week. High Court said that barricades should be removed and Shambhu border connecting two states should be opened.
The High Court’s decision has come on pleas stating problems faced by daily commuters including traders.
During the hearing, the Haryana government said that if they remove the barricades from Shambhu border, then the farmers will enter Ambala and surround the SP office. On this, the High Court said that the uniformed people should not panic. In a democracy, farmers cannot be stopped from entering or surrounding Haryana.
Shambhu border has been closed for the last 5 months. Before the Lok Sabha elections, farmers wanted to march to Delhi. To stop these farmers of Punjab, Haryana Police had done 7 layers of barricading here.
Due to the closure of Shambhu border, direct connectivity between Punjab and Haryana was broken. The traders of Ambala also expressed their anger by closing their shops and demanding the opening of Shambhu border.
