BSF and Punjab Police foil smuggling attempt in Tarn Taran border area

After receiving information from the BSF intelligence wing regarding the presence of a suspected packet in the border area of district Tarn Taran, BSF Punjab troops along with Punjab Police rushed to the suspected area and carried out an extensive search operation.

Tarn Taran: After receiving information from the BSF intelligence wing regarding the presence of a suspected packet in the border area of district Tarn Taran, BSF Punjab troops along with Punjab Police rushed to the suspected area and carried out an extensive search operation.

The search operation culminated in the recovery of a packet, which was wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape and further secured with red adhesive tape around it.

An improvised metal wire ring was also found attached to it. Upon opening the packing, 01 pistol body (without upper slide & barrel) and 01 empty pistol magazine were found inside.

A small amount of suspected heroin (less than 01 gram) was also found in white polythene inside the packet. This recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to village Mastgarh of Tarn Taran district.

A specific input by the BSF intelligence wing and swift execution by the vigilant BSF troops and Punjab Police resulted in this significant recovery of contraband.
