BSF apprehends 1 Pakistani Intruder near Tarn Taran border

This apprehension took place ahead of the border security fence near Village Naushera Dhalla in Tarn Taran district.

Amritsar: On 23rd May 2024, during night hours, vigilant BSF troops on duty noticed some suspicious movement near the International Border (IB). 01 Pakistani intruder was observed crossing the IB from Pakistan side and entering into Indian territory in border area of district Tarn Taran.

Alert troops immediately challenged the intruder to stop but he started running towards the border security fence. Sensing the imminent danger and keeping in view the high-alert situation on the border, the troops on duty, observing the maximum restraint, fired at the intruder in order to incapacitate him.

Consequently, he sustained a bullet injury on his left thigh and fell near the border security fence. The injured intruder was immediately apprehended. This apprehension took place ahead of the border security fence near Village Naushera Dhalla in Tarn Taran district.

Showing a humane approach, the BSF troops immediately evacuated the injured Pakistani intruder to a hospital in Amritsar. Condition of the injured intruder is stable now. Questioning will be carried out by the BSF and other agencies to obtain further information from the Pakistani intruder.

Attentive observation and timely action by the alert BSF troops resulted into this significant apprehension of a Pakistani intruder, amidst the situation when the high alert is being observed all along the border due to ongoing election process in the world’s largest democracy.
