BSF, Punjab Police jointly recovered heroin near Ferozepur border

Ferozepur: On 30th August 2024, during evening hours, based on reliable information from the BSF intelligence wing about the presence of suspected heroin in the border area of district Ferozepur, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police promptly conducted a search operation in the suspected area. At about 07:30 pm, the troops successfully recovered 02.

Ferozepur: On 30th August 2024, during evening hours, based on reliable information from the BSF intelligence wing about the presence of suspected heroin in the border area of district Ferozepur, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police promptly conducted a search operation in the suspected area.

At about 07:30 pm, the troops successfully recovered 02 packets of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 1.141 Kgs). The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.

A metal ring was also found attached with the packet. This recovery occurred in a farming field adjacent to village- Macchiwara, in Ferozepur district.

A reliable information followed by prompt coordinated action by the troops of BSF and Punjab Police resulted in this significant recovery of narcotics smuggled from across the border.
