Tarn Taran: Border Security Force Troops and Punjab Police in joint collaboration launched a search operation and recovered heroin. The heroin was recovered from a farming field in a plastic water container.
On 30th July 2024, based on specific input about the presence of narcotics in the border area of district Tarn Taran, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police promptly launched a search operation.
During the search operation, at about 10:58AM, the troops successfully recovered 01 plastic water container (Gross weight- 584 Grams) filled with suspected heroin from a farming field near village- Mastgarh in Tarn Taran district. One iron ring and one illuminating device were also found attached to the plastic container.
Reliable information coupled with diligent efforts of the troops of BSF and Punjab Police thwarted yet another illicit attempt of cross-border narco-smugglers to smuggle narcotics into Punjab from across the border.
