BSF recovers 1.18 Kg narcotics in Amritsar

The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and steel rings were found attached to each packet.

Amritsar: Vigilant troops of the Border Security Force who work day and night to secure the borders have once again foiled the attempt to smuggle narcotics from the neighboring country. BSF troops recovered narcotics in the village falling under Amritsar district.

On 9th September 2024, based on reliable information from the BSF Intelligence Wing regarding the presence of narcotics in the border area of Amritsar district, BSF troops promptly launched an extensive search operation in the suspected location.

As per the release by BSF, troops around 05:30 PM successfully recovered two packets of suspected heroin (gross weight of 1.180 kg). The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and steel rings were found attached to each packet.

This recovery by BSF occurred in a farming field near the village of Daoke, in Amritsar district.

A credible tip-off followed by swift action from the troops of BSF Punjab effectively foiled yet another narcotics smuggling attempt from across the border.
