BSF recovers heroin along with drone in Amritsar

Amritsar: On 9th June 2024, the BSF intelligence wing provided advance information about a narcotics smuggling attempt using a drone from across the border near the village of Rattankhurd in Amritsar district.

At approximately 10:24 PM, BSF troops intercepted a drone entering Indian territory from Pakistan. The drone’s suspected drop zone was immediately secured and an extensive search operation was conducted by the BSF troops.

During the search, at around 10:45 PM, BSF troops successfully recovered a drone and a packet of suspected heroin (gross weight – 530 grams) near the border security fence on the outskirts of Rattankhurd village in Amritsar district.

The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and a small LED light and a black thread loop were also attached to the packet.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.

Owing to reliable information and a well-planned operation, BSF troops once again thwarted an illicit drone intrusion and narcotics smuggling attempt from across the border.
