Bullet shots fired on Thar few hours before polling in Ajnala

The youth on whose vehicle bullets were fired is said to be son of Congress's city President.

Amritsar: Punjab is voting for the municipal elections today. A few hours before the elections in Punjab, news of firing came to light from Ajanala city. A Thar vehicle was targeted by some unknown persons. The youth sitting in the vehicle escaped the attack unhurt. The police have reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

The youth on whose vehicle bullets were fired is said to be son of Congress’s city President.

On this, the city president of the Congress party, Davinder Singh Dam, said that he was sitting in his office when he received a phone call that someone had fired bullets on his son’s vehicle. He said that the police should investigate and the culprits should be arrested.

SHO Ajanala Satpal Singh, who reached the spot, said that the bullets fired are being investigated and the culprits will be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, the election for the municipal elections is underway in Amritsar. A total of 841 booths have been set up by the district administration. Start from 7 am and continue till 4 pm. After voting the results will start coming. Elections are being held on 85 wards for Amritsar Municipal Corporation.
