Batala: A bus carrying polling staff collided with a truck near village Kala Nangal on the Gurdaspur-Amritsar National Highway in Batala late evening. It is being told that three persons have sustained serious injuries in this accident while four to five persons have sustained minor injuries. The seriously injured have been admitted to Civil Hospital Batala.
After the accident, SDM Vikramjit Singh reached the spot at the Civil Hospital to know the condition of the injured. According to information, the bus collided with the truck going ahead due to high speed, due to which the accident took place.
After this accident, the SSF team reached the spot and admitted the injured to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Raj Kumar, an employee going on election duty, said that he was going on election duty by bus and five polling parties were sitting in the bus. When their bus reached near Kala Nangal bridge on the Gurdaspur-Amritsar main road, the bus collided with the truck going ahead.
Employee Deepak said that in the accident, his colleagues suffered serious injuries and his arm was also fractured. He said that he has informed about this accident to the higher authorities and on the request of the higher authorities, medical treatment is being done from the hospital.
