Jalandhar: A bus full of pilgrims was sent from here on Saturday to visit the holy religious places under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirath Yojna’ launched by the Punjab Government. Pilgrims leaving by this special bus of Punjab Roadways will have darshan of Mata Naina Devi Ji, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Mata Chintpurni Ji and Mata Jwala Ji.

It should be noted that the Punjab Government has started the ‘Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme’ from November 27 to provide free darshan of religious places. Under this scheme, pilgrims can visit Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Hazur Sahib, Sri Patna Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Mata Naina Devi Ji, Vrindavan Dham, Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Mata Chintpurni Ji, Mata Jwala Ji, Varanasi, Sri Khatu Shyam Ji, and many more. Rs 40 crore is being spent on this scheme by the Punjab government.

On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party leader Jeet Lal Bhatti said that the state government is bearing all the expenses on accommodation and food during the yatra. He said that those who were deprived of visiting religious places for some reason will now be able to visit the holy religious places due to the efforts of the state government.

The devotees who set out on the yatra thanked the Punjab government and said that the efforts made by the government cannot be appreciated enough. They said that with this facility provided by the government, they can visit various religious places without any expense.
