Vehicle of Punjab Governor convoy involved in accident; 3 security personnel injures

Governor Purohit is on a tour of border areas; 3 CRPF jawans injured, accident due to tyre burst

Amritsar: A car belonging to the convoy of Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, who was on a border tour in Amritsar, Punjab, met with an accident. Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel deployed for his security were injured in this incident. Governor Purohit’s car is completely safe, and after the procedure of taking the soldiers to the hospital after the incident, they left for further treatment.

According to the information received, Governor Banwari Lal Purohit was in Amritsar today after visiting the border areas of Pathankot and Gurdaspur during his two-day tour. He was going back towards Gharinda via village Pul Moran near the Attari border so that he could visit the border villages of Amritsar-Tarn Taran further.

The tyre of his car burst in the area falling under the jurisdiction of the Gharinda police station on GT Road. After which the car lost balance and hit the divider.

At the time of the incident, vehicles of BSF officers were also with Governor Purohit. Immediately after the accident, the soldiers were taken out of the car and taken to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar. Three soldiers have been injured in this accident. As soon as he was taken to the hospital, he was given first aid. He will be discharged from the hospital after all the tests are done.

After sending the security personnel safely to the hospital, Governor Purohit proceeded on his tour. Governor Banwari Lal Purohit is going to hold a press conference this evening regarding his two-day tour.
