Punjab tourist dies in Himachal

5 members of the family got down from the car before the accident; were going to Khajjiar.

Chamba: A car met with an accident in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, on Sunday evening. A tourist from Gurdaspur, Punjab, died in this accident.

The police have registered a case and started further action.

The deceased has been identified as Raman Kumar, son of Jogendra Pali, a resident of ITI Colony, Gurdaspur. The deceased was serving in the Punjab Police. He had gone for a walk with his family. The police have taken the body of the deceased into custody. His postmortem is being conducted today at Chamba Hospital. The body will be handed over to the family in due time.

According to the information, this accident occurred on the Dalhousie-Khajjiar road. Apart from Raman Kumar, his wife, their two children, his father-in-law, and a relative’s child were also in the car. All six members were going from Dalhousie to the famous tourist place Khajjiar in the car.

During this, their car got stuck in a long traffic jam about a quarter of a kilometre before Khajjiar.

After this, the five tourists who had come from Punjab got out of the car and left for Khajjiar on foot, while Raman Kumar remained in the vehicle.

During this time, his car went out of control and fell into the ditch. Due to this, Raman died on the spot.

People present on the spot informed the police, and by late evening, Raman’s body was taken out of the ditch. By then, Raman’s family members had also reached there. Since then, the family members have been crying inconsolably.
