Ludhiana, June 22: Tragic news has emerged from Doraha, where a family’s joyful return from Gurdwara Sahib near Doburji village turned into sorrow within moments. The family’s car fell into the canal, in which four people were travelling. In this tragic accident, two members of the family died, while two girls were saved by passersby.
Police Station Officer Satpal Singh Chowki Doraha said that the car occupants were rescued by the villagers with great difficulty, out of which the car driver Rupinder Singh (around 55 years old) and his younger sister-in-law Kulwinder Kaur (around 50 years old) were rescued and taken to the hospital. Where they were declared brought dead by the doctors. Kulwinder Kaur’s two daughters Hargun Kaur and Harleen Kaur, aged 14-15, are undergoing treatment. Sub-Inspector Harbhajan Singh also reached the spot along with the police party and the family is from Janta Nagar, Ludhiana.
