Youth was sent to Serbia instead of Germany; the victim was going abroad to work.

Kapurthala: A case of cheating a youth of Rs 10.5 lakh came to light in Kapurthala. The accused sent him to Serbia instead of Germany. On the complaint of the youth’s mother, the Begowal police station has registered a case against the accused and started an investigation.

Manjit Kaur, a resident of Dolowal village in the Begowal area of the district’s sub-division Bhulath, told the police that she wanted to send her son Navdeep Singh to Germany. During this, she met Gaurav Sharma, a resident of Mohalla Lahori Gate, Kapurthala. Who told me that he works in sending people abroad? So far, he has sent many people abroad. He also talked about sending Navdeep Singh to Germany soon.

Manjit Kaur talked to Gaurav Sharma to send her son Navdeep to Germany. Gaurav Sharma, a travel agent, took Navdeep’s passport and Rs 10.50 lakh. But later, instead of sending his son to Germany, he sent him to Serbia. When he was asked about this, he could not give any answer. When he was asked to return the money, he started making excuses.

After the woman’s complaint, the police investigated the matter and found all the allegations against the accused travel agent to be true. Due to this, the Begowal police station has registered an FIR against the accused travel agent under sections 406, 420, and 13 of the Punjab Professionals Regulation Act 2014 and has started searching for the accused.
