Case of counterfeit documents: US Embassy lodges complaint, 7 immigration firms booked

Ludhiana: Ludhiana Police has registered a case against the owners of 7 visa consultant companies after receiving a complaint from the American Embassy. The US Embassy had complained to the police that these consultant companies used to apply for US visas by attaching fake work experience and education certificates, with the aim of misleading the US government.

After this a case was registered against the owners of seven different visa consultant companies who are residents of different cities.

The US Embassy suspected the agents submitted fraudulent information on online US visa applications to defraud US embassies and the US government in India to obtain US visas.

 

The case was registered under various sections of the BNS on the complaint of Eric C. Molitors, Overseas Criminal Investigator, Regional Security Office, US Embassy, ​​New Delhi. The embassy had sent a complaint to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav for necessary action. In a complaint, the embassy official said suspected fraudulent activities were carried out by Red Leaf Immigration, Overseas Partners Education Consultants and other entities. A case has been registered against at least seven people.

Amandeep Singh and Poonam Rani of Zirakpur, Ankur Kehar of Ludhiana, Akshay Sharma and Kamaljit Kansal of Mohali, Rohit Bhalla of Ludhiana and Kirti Sood of Barnala, Amandeep and Poonam are partners at Red Leaf Immigration, Sector 22C, Chandigarh, while Ankur Bharat Runs Overseas Partner Education Consultant in Nagar Chowk, Ludhiana.
