Bathinda has recorded the highest temperature of 23 degrees. Chandigarh has recorded a temperature of 18.8 degrees. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for Amritsar, Kapurthala and Tarn Taran till 9 am.

Orange alert for fog in eight districts
According to the Meteorological Department, today there is an orange alert for dense fog and cold wave in eight districts Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.
At the same time, there is a yellow alert for dense fog in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Rupnagar, Mohali and Malerkotla.
The good news for the people is that there may be relief from fog on the 10th. The Meteorological Department has not issued any alert for Friday.
Cold nights in Sangrur, Amritsar and SBS Nagar
According to the Meteorological Department, nights are also cold in Sangrur, Amritsar and SBS Nagar. On January 8, the night temperature in all these places was between 3 degrees and 3.5 degrees. Which was the lowest in the entire state. However, in comparison, the minimum temperature of Chandigarh, adjacent to Himachal, was recorded at 9.2 degrees. The temperature in Mohali was recorded at 8.3 degrees.
