After stopping at Rishikesh for a day, they set out on the journey on 28 September 2019. It was raining heavily that day and the road was also very bad. They stopped 50 kilometers from Rishikesh to have tea.

The people stopped them and said that there was a danger of landslides. The passengers also forbade the driver from going further. But the driver argued that he understood these routes very well. During this time, a big rock fell on his car. Seven people, including the driver, died in the accident, while two survived.
