Chandigarh: Today, Chandigarh Police gave a rousing welcome to its new Director General of Police (DGP) Sagar Preet Hooda. On this occasion, a welcome parade was organized, which concluded at RTC Police Line, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Senior police officers, jawans and staff were present at the event. Through the parade, the police force felicitated the new DGP and gave a disciplined demonstration to welcome him.
Who is Sagar Preet Hooda?
IPS officer of 1997 batch, Sagar Preet Hooda, who has previously served in various important positions, will now take charge of the law and order of Chandigarh. Given his experience and leadership, the police department is expected to get better direction and energy from him.
On this occasion, DGP Hooda while addressing the police force said that, “Our aim is to make Chandigarh Police an ideal and leading force in public service. Public trust and security will be given top priority.”
Local people and departmental officials also congratulated DGP Hooda on assuming charge and expressed hope that the security system of the city will be strengthened under his leadership.
