AAP leaders say that the state government has been serious on the issue of paddy lifting from the beginning. MP Malvinder Singh Kang says that since March, the Food Supply Department of Punjab was writing letters to FCI and the Central Ministry.

He further added that the central government did not take any action for nine months. The Food Supply Department first wrote a letter to FCI on March 5, then wrote letters on March 11, March 13, March 19, and March 22. Letters were also written twice in June, on June 14 and 27, and on September 03. In total, fifteen letters have been written on behalf of the Punjab government. He also added that apart from this, the CM Mann has gone to Delhi and met the Union Ministers but no concrete solution was offered by the central government.
