A memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Justice on behalf of Advocate Dhami, head of the Gurdwara Management Committee. It was said that an uncontrolled and organized hate campaign and propaganda against the minority Sikh community on social media platforms is becoming a very important issue. It is not being properly stopped by the Government of India and the concerned state governments.

Delegation of SGPC handed over memorandum to CJI

Being the constitutional and representative organization of the Sikh community, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has from time to time passed several resolutions (copies enclosed) to take strict action against hate propaganda promoting enmity between different communities and sent them to the Government of India, but despite this, they have not been properly resolved. The Supreme Court is very strict against such communal and hateful expressions on social media platforms.
