CI Pathankot, Gurdaspur Police joint op one accused arrested with 1.35 kg heroin

As per DGP Yadav, the Punjab Police is committed to make Punjab drug-free.

Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police taking major action against the trans-border smuggling networks have arrested one accused along with the narcotics. The information about the seizure has been shared by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav.

As per DGP Yadav, the Counter Intelligence team Pathankot in a joint operation with the Gurdaspur Police arrested 1 person and seized 1.350 Kg heroin. As per Police, the arrested accused was in contact with Pakistan-based operatives. They used to use drones in order to smuggle drugs into the Indian territory. 

Police have lodged FIR under the NDPS act. Investigation is ongoing and forwards and backward linkages are being established to expose more people involved in the smuggling of drugs. Police have anticipated that more arrests are likely in this matter as further investigation is on.
