CM Bhagwant Mann in Dhuri today, inaugurate rural development projects

This initiative is considered an important step towards giving new impetus to rural development.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be in his assembly constituency Dhuri, today. He will inaugurate the development projects in the area for the people. The government is now focusing on providing basic amenities like roads, parks, dharamshalas, street lights, and CCTV cameras in the villages.

CM Mann will launch 314 development projects during this period and will also distribute cheques worth Rs 25.89 crore to the beneficiaries. This initiative is considered an important step towards giving new impetus to rural development.

Special budget for villages, will be spent on 6 important areas. The Punjab government has made a provision of Rs 3,500 crore for villages in the budget for the year 2025-26. This amount will be spent specifically on the following six points

1. Revival and release of village ponds.

2. Cleaning of sewage through the Sechewal-Thapar model.

3. Efforts to ensure the availability of canal water.

4. Construction of rural playgrounds.

5. Installing street lights in villages under the Chief Minister Street Light Scheme.

6. Improvement of 18,944 km long link roads.

Five crores for every assembly constituency

It has been ensured in the budget that there is proper development in every assembly constituency. For this, a budget of ₹5 crore has been set for each district.

This amount will be spent on the recommendation of the MLA and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the concerned area. Under this scheme, the government has made a provision of a total of Rs 585 crore.
