CM Bhagwant Mann meets Arhtiyas, says ‘Every demand will be fulfilled’

CM Mann assured arhtiyas that every demand would be fulfilled. 

Chandigarh: Amid the strike Arhtiyas (Commission agents) and Labourers, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with the commission agents today. After the meeting, initial remarks came out in which CM Mann assured arhtiyas that every demand would be fulfilled.

CM Mann added the demands of the Arhtiyas (commission agents) will be raised before the Center. It is demanded that the outstanding amount of RDF should be paid by Center.

Moreover, the central government has to pay 192 crores of Arhtiyas’ fees. The Chief Minister also discussed the issue of paying 50 crores of outstanding EPF

CM Mann added that Punjab government is ready to fight a legal battle with FCI if their demands are not met.

After the meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, strike has been withdrawn by Arhtiyas. The commission agents said that the Chief Minister has assured that if the Centre does not give 2.5 percent commission to the commission agents, then the Punjab government will compensate for it. On this condition, the commission agents called off their strike and will return to work from tomorrow.
