Bathinda: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is on a visit to Bathinda today (Thursday). During this visit, he will dedicate two projects prepared at a cost of crores of rupees to the public. These projects include an auditorium dedicated to famous Punjabi playwright Balwant Gargi and a school building. Security has been increased in the entire area in view of CM’s visit.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will inaugurate the new five-storey building of Major Shaheed Ravi Inder Singh Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School. This five-storey building with 73 rooms is built at a cost of Rs 11 crores. The newly constructed building of the school is equipped with modern infrastructure including smart classes, labs and library. As per information, the newly constructed building has 73 rooms including smart classrooms, science labs, 4 computer labs, and a library.
It should be noted that Major Shaheed Ravi Inder Singh Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School is the biggest and only girls school in Bathinda with nearly 2200 girl students in the school. It is said that due to less number of classrooms, the school used to run in two shifts but now with the construction of a new building, the school will now run in a single shift in a more efficient manner.
Apart from the new building of the school, CM Bhagwant Mann will also inaugurate the newly constructed Balwant Gargi Auditorium. The foundation stone was laid in the year 2021 by the then government and after three years, the multipurpose auditorium will be dedicated to people by CM. The auditorium has a sitting capacity of over 800. The auditorium dedicated to Balwant Gargi has been built at the cost of Rs 30 crore.
