Chandigarh: A state level program dedicated to the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Rajguru was organized today (23 March) in Khatkar Kalan. In this program, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and many of his cabinet ministers and MLAs reached there and paid tribute to the martyrs. Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Government Medical College in Barnala Kalan village. This college will be built on 18 acres. He said that honesty is the true tribute to the martyrs.
On this occasion, the CM said that in the coming days, we will see a lot of development work. We are going to present the budget in two-three days. It has been three years for our government. Both the previous governments used to say that the treasury is empty. I also used to say that then why call it a treasury, call it a barrel. In three years, none of our ministers or MLAs said that the treasury is empty.
The treasury was not empty, the intention was empty. Intentions get fulfilled. At the same time, he said that it takes time to fix some things. A 75-year-old system cannot be fixed in two to three years. If a boot with laces is not opened for three to four days, then the knot of its lace has to be opened with a spoon or a sharp object.
Because it freezes. You have given me 75 year old boots. It will definitely take some time to open them. We are working. We do not delay in taking action. I do not sign any such file which puts a burden on the people. I will fulfill the responsibility given by God with devotion. Punjab will soon become the number one state.

In Mohali too, events have been organised on the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. In this series, a rally against drug abuse will be taken out today from Kandala to the statue installed at Chandigarh airport, which will reach the airport by 2 pm.
