Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will formulate its strategy for the by-elections to be held on four assembly seats in Punjab today on Wednesday. For this, a meeting of the leaders of all the four constituencies has been called by the party. The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of CM Bhagwant Mann in Chandigarh, while the party’s national secretary Sandeep Pathak will also be present. The meeting will be held at Municipal Bhawan at 2 pm. In this meeting, feedback will be taken from the leaders from making the strategy of the election to all the situations.
By-elections are to be held on November 13 in four assembly constituencies of the state, Barnala, Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabbewal. This election is also very important for AAP. Because the opposition parties are calling it the semi-final of 2027. At the same time, the contest has become interesting due to Congress and BJP fielding big faces on these seats. In such a situation, the party does not want to leave any stone unturned. Earlier, CM Bhagwant Mann himself took charge of the Jalandhar by-election. Won all the seats.
Earlier, Congress had control over three seats
If we talk about the 2022 election results of these seats, then Congress had won all the seats except Barnala seat. However, just before the Lok Sabha elections, the then MLA of the Chabbewal seat, Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal joined AAP. Also, after becoming an MP, he resigned from the post of MLA. Similarly, there was a contest between Congress’s Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Akali Dal’s Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon on the Gidderbaha seat. But now Dimpy has joined AAP. At the same time, now everyone’s eyes are on the Akali Dal as to which face they field in the electoral fray.
