Jalandhar: Former Punjab Congress cabinet minister and state Congress disciplinary committee chairman Avtar Henry has expelled six Bathinda councillors from the party for anti-party activities.
This expulsion has been imposed for 5 years. According to the information received, Avtar Henry said in his orders- These councillors are accused of voting in favour of Aam Aadmi Party during Bathinda Municipal Corporation elections.
Due to which councillors Anita Goyal, Sonia, Mamta, Kiran Rani, Suresh Kumar and Vikram Kranti were shown the way out.
13 responded, 6 did not; hence action was taken
Henry said- Recently he had received a complaint during the mayoral elections that some Congress councillors had voted for AAP instead of Congress. Due to which Aam Aadmi Party captured the Bathinda seat even though it did not get the required number of seats.
After which, on the basis of the complaint, show cause notices were issued to 19 councillors. Out of which 13 councillors explained their reasons and the remaining 6 councillors did not give any reply. Due to which action has been taken against the said councillors.
At present, he has been expelled for 5 years. At the same time, the leaders of the Congress high command have also been informed about this entire incident.
