New Delhi: Congress has announced the list of its star campaigners for the Delhi Assembly elections. The party has made a total of 40 leaders star campaigners, in which three veteran leaders from Punjab have been given place.
Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from Punjab has been included in this list released on Saturday. Apart from this, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President and MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring will also be a star campaigner.
Sukhpal Singh Khaira, MLA from Bhulath in Kapurthala and President of All India Kisan Congress, has been chosen as the third name. Khaira is considered a firebrand leader in the party and has a strong hold on the NRI belt.
It is clear from the appointment of these leaders that the Congress is working on a strategy to woo Punjabi voters in Delhi. The party has entrusted the responsibility of campaigning to experienced and grassroots leaders, who can give new energy to the election campaign.
