Courier vehicle catches fire in Ludhiana, goods burnt to ashes

With the help of people, some goods were brought down from the vehicle but they got damaged.

Ludhiana: A courier vehicle caught fire near Basti Jodhewal on NH44 highway in Ludhiana. As soon as the driver came to know about the fire, he parked the vehicle on the roadside and went to get water but in the meanwhile fire increased so much that the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. With the help of passersby, the fire brigade and NHAI officials were informed.

Giving information, the driver of the vehicle, Gurjeet Singh, told that he was driving a courier vehicle from near Ladowal. His main store is in Sahnewal. The vehicle was full of goods. When he reached near Basti Jodhewal, suddenly fire started coming out of the engine of the vehicle. Seeing the fire, he immediately parked the vehicle on the roadside and went to get water but in the meantime, the flames of fire engulfed the entire vehicle.

Immediately after the fire broke out, the fire brigade was informed with the help of the people but by then all the goods had been burnt to ashes. The vehicle was completely damaged. All the goods loaded in the vehicle for delivery were burnt to ashes. With the help of people, some goods were brought down from the vehicle but they got damaged.

On the other hand, NHAI officer Daljit Singh said that he reached the spot as soon as he got information about the fire in the vehicle on the highway. All the goods lying in the vehicle have turned to ashes. At present, the driver is safe. The driver has informed the store owners. The cause of the fire is not known but the fire spread from the engine of the vehicle.
