23 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Ludhiana district last week. At the same time, 6 cases have been reported in Jalandhar, 4 in Mohali and 2 in Ferozepur. Experts believe that the increasing heat and carelessness of people are also causing the spread of infection.
The death of two patients have been confirmed by hospital. One of them was a 69-year-old woman who was undergoing treatment at PGIMER Chandigarh, and the other was a 39-year-old man who died at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. Health officials said that both the deceased had serious illnesses beforehand, due to which the infection proved fatal. At the same time, they also had a travel history.
State Corona Nodal Officer Dr. Rajesh Bhaskar said that at present, only mild symptoms are being seen in all the patients reported, and the situation is still under control. The health department is keeping a close watch on the situation. A new advisory may be issued regarding COVID in the coming days, and it is still under consideration. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has instructed all the states to impose minimum restrictions during Corona.
