Ludhiana: The smugglers involved in the business of alcohol and drugs smuggling in Jagraon have made the crematoriums near the school and college their base and are supplying alcohol and drugs. On this being revealed, the police raided the smugglers’ bases near the school and science college and arrested two smugglers including a woman. The police recovered a total of 28 bottles of liquor including illegal liquor bottles from the accused and registered cases in different police stations.
The accused have been identified as Sonu Kalyan resident of Gandhi Nagar Jagraon and Prakash Kaur resident of village Bhumal. ASI Randhir Singh of Police Station City said that he was checking by putting up a blockade at Raikot Adda with the police party. During this time, he got information that the accused Sonu Kalyan has been involved in the business of alcohol smuggling for a long time, he supplies alcohol to his customers by sitting inside the crematorium near the Science College.
The police team took immediate action and raided the spot and caught the accused Sonu Kalyan. During this time, the police recovered 20 bottles of liquor hidden in the crematorium and registered a case in the City Police Station.
In another case, the police of Sidhwan Bet has caught a woman smuggler who used to make illegal liquor and supply it to customers. The police recovered 8 bottles of illegal liquor from the accused woman and registered a case in the Sidhwan Bet Police Station. The accused has been identified as Prakash Kaur, resident of village Bhumal.
