Customs seizes gold  valued Rs 92 lakh at Amritsar International Airport

Amritsar: Based on information received, Customs AIU staff of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport, Amritsar intercepted one passenger (pax) coming from Kuala Lumpur by Flight Batik Air in the night of the 11.03.2024.

 On his search, the pax was found to be carrying 1.6 kg gold in bar form wrapped around the legs.

The gross weight along with the Packing material was 1. 607KG approx. and net weight of gold was 1.600 KG.

The estimated value of seized Gold is around of Rs. 92.06 Lakh approx. The same was seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962, and the accused was placed under arrest.
