Fatehgarh: In a Kisan Mahapanchayat held in Fatehgarh Sahib, Jagjit Singh Dallewal (State President of Bharatiya Kisan Union) made serious allegations against the central government. Dallewal accused the government of inviting farmers for dialogue while simultaneously using force to suppress their protests during the night.
Dallewal rejected Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s appeal to end the ongoing fast unto death and attend a meeting scheduled for May 4. The Minister has assured that farmers’ issues would be resolved in the meeting, but Dallewal emphasized that previous promises had been broken, making it impossible to trust the government again.
The farmer leader also raised the issue of the Makhija Morcha, demanding punishment for those responsible for disrespecting the Shri Guru Granth Sahib and stopping the Akhand Jot. He appealed to the Shri Akal Takht Sahib for justice in this matter.
Kisan Mahapanchayats are being held across Punjab to protest the removal of the Kisan Morcha from the Shambhu and Khanauri borders. Dallewal firmly stated that the agitation would continue until the farmers’ demands are fully addressed.
