Kapurthala: The dead body of a person was found in the pond of Dalla village in Sultanpur Lodhi sub-division of Kapurthala district on Tuesday morning. After receiving information about the incident, the Dalla outpost police took the body into their possession and started an investigation to identify him.
Police said that no document has been found from the deceased for his identification. At present, the body has been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital for 72 hours.
According to the information received from the police, the villagers saw the dead body of a person floating in the pond of Dalla village on Tuesday morning. After informing the police, the police team reached the spot and took the body into possession.
Investigating officer Gurdial Singh said that the said person was wearing a half-sleeved shirt and shorts. The deceased has a moon star mark on the left side of his forehead. However, no documents have been found with him to identify him. Inquiries are being made in the surrounding area. All the police stations have been alerted in this regard.
