Ludhiana: Senior Congress leader and former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains has received a death threat in Ludhiana, Punjab. Someone has threatened to kill him through messenger on his Facebook page.
Bunty, who runs Simarjit Bains’ social media handle page, said that he received this threat yesterday when Bains and all the other companions were marching on foot in the road show. After the threat, a complaint will now be made to the Ludhiana Police Commissioner and the Election Commission regarding this matter.
Threat came from the name Babbar Harry
Bunty said that a threat has come on Bains’ page from an ID named Babbar Harry. The person who threatened wrote – You are becoming a big leader day by day, do not get too carried away, walk with a little peace otherwise we will permanently make you silent. Understand that there is still time otherwise no one will even identify your dead body.
On the other hand, in this case, Simranjit Singh Bains said that he is a leader who walks on the path of truth. Ever since he has been working among the people, mischievous people have been sending him threats. But he is not a leader who backs down from the truth. Senior police officials will be informed in this matter.
Who is Simranjit Singh Bains
Simranjit Singh Bains, who started his political career with the current MP of Sangrur, Simranjit Singh Mann, joined the Akali Dal under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal. Many allegations were leveled against him in the SAD. A case was also registered against Bains for entering the office and assaulting the Tehsildar.
Angry at not being given an election ticket by the Akali Dal, he left the party. After this, Simranjit contested from Atam Nagar and Balwinder from Ludhiana assembly seat and won. Bains formed the Lok Insaaf Party in the 2017 assembly elections and formed an alliance with AAP. This time also both the brothers won the election.
In the assembly elections held in the year 2022, his party contested the elections alone, but could not stand in front of the wave of AAP and lost.
Bains has gone to jail twice
Simarjit Singh Bains has gone to jail twice. In the year 2009, he was accused of assaulting the Tehsildar. He has served jail in this case. After this, on July 10, 2021, the woman accused him of trying to rape her. After this, the police registered a case and sent him to jail.
