Firozpur: In a series of accidents caused by dense fog today, two cars and a truck were severely damaged, but thankfully, there were no fatalities.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, using hydraulic machines to clear the wrecked vehicles from the road.
The first incident occurred in the early hours when a tractor-trailer loaded with wood broke down on the Abohar-Sriganganagar highway near Kallarkhera village. The driver abandoned the vehicle, leaving it parked on the roadside. Later, Ayub Khan, driving a truck loaded with salt from Phalodi to Amritsar, failed to see the stationary tractor in the fog and collided with it, resulting in significant damage to the front of his truck and minor injuries to him. He was subsequently taken to Abohar Civil Hospital for treatment.
In a separate incident at Killianwali bypass chowk, two cars collided head-on due to the poor visibility caused by the fog. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage, but no occupants were found, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
