Jalandhar: In an appalling incident reported in Jalandhar’s posh Surya Enclave Society, two youths in inebriated state molested a girl walking on foot. The two youths were drinking alcohol in their car late last night while they molested the girl. When people nearby saw this and protested, the accused youths in return attacked them with sharp weapons.
Those injured in the clash have been identified as Businessmen Amit Goyal, Rupesh Gupta and Naresh Jain. They were admitted to Johal Hospital in Rama Mandi for treatment late at night. Videos of the accused have also surfaced from the crime scene. In the video, the accused youths can be seen threatening others with swords and axes in their hands.
When the girl was molested, the people around protested fiercely. Seeing the protest, the accused started abusing. After this, they attacked with sharp weapons and seriously injured three people. All the injured in the incident are residents of Surya Enclave.
Recounting the horror, Victim Amit Goyal said that two youths were drinking alcohol after parking their car outside his society. Along with this, they roamed around the society and molested the girl. When the girl talked about this to the people of the society, the people of the society gathered and protested against the two youths. When they gathered and went near the car, the youths took out sharp weapons from inside the car and started attacking.
Police complaint was filed investigation in the matter has been started by the police. At present, one person has been caught while search is underway for the other one.
