Jalandhar : The 28-year-old son of DSP Sukhjit Singh posted in the rural police died after being hit by a train near Bashirpur railway crossing in Jalandhar, Punjab. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Ajay Pal Singh alias Lali. Lali’s post-mortem will be conducted today at the Civil Hospital in Jalandhar.

The police had taken the body into custody on Monday night itself. The police had found a slip from Lali’s pocket. On which DSP Sukhjit Singh’s phone number was written. At first the police thought that the body was unidentified, but the police’s concern increased because the said number belonged to the DSP.

Immediately DSP Sukhjit’s number was called, then it was found that the dead body was of the DSP’s son. Since the slip was found from Lali’s pocket, the case is being investigated from the angle of suicide.

No vehicle found at the scene

ASI Hira Singh said that the police did not find any suspicious vehicle from the scene. Which makes it clear that he had reached the scene on foot.

Lali’s post-mortem will be conducted today. The post-mortem report will make it clear what the matter really is. At the same time, DSP Sukhjeet Singh and his family are in shock due to Lali’s death. Lali’s last rites will be performed immediately after the elder son returns from Canada.

Investigating officer said – investigation is going on from various angles

According to the information received, this accident happened late on Monday evening. ASI Hira Singh, the investigating officer of the case, said that after receiving the information, he had reached the spot for investigation. Lali died after being hit by Dadar Express. The police of GRP station has recorded the statement of DSP’s father.

At the same time, the driver of the train has told the police that Lali was crossing the railway track at the time of the incident. Due to which this accident happened. When the team that arrived for investigation searched the body, a phone number and Ankit name were written on it. Police said that when we called, we found that this mobile number belongs to DSP Sukhjeet Singh.
