ED action on Illegeal Mining before voting in Punjab: Raid at 13 places, Rs 3 crore recovered

Before voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab on June 1, the Enforcement Directorate has taken a big action. Jalandhar ED team has raided 13 places in Ropar and Hoshiarpur regarding illegal mining. Rs 3 crore has been seized from here.

Jalandhar : Before voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab on June 1, the Enforcement Directorate has taken a big action. Jalandhar ED team has raided 13 places in Ropar and Hoshiarpur regarding illegal mining. Rs 3 crore has been seized from here.

According to initial information, the land on which illegal mining was done was seized by ED. This land came to light during the investigation of money laundering case of Jagdish Singh alias Bhola, associated with drug smuggling, Which was seized by ED.

However, illegal mining started happening here later. After which ED conducted this raid. Sources said that some of the accused in this alleged illegal mining case also include Naseeb Chand and Shri Ram Krashar.

Bhola was arrested in 2014
This case of money laundering related to Bhola drugs case in Punjab came to light during the year 2013-14. After this, ED registered a case on the basis of FIR of Punjab Police. In January 2014, the investigating agency arrested Bhola.

This case was going on in the Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) court. During the hearing, it came to light that the land was bought with drug money. Later, ED seized it. After this, it was found that illegal mining was going on on the land seized by ED. After this, the team took this action.
