Edu Minister Harjot Singh Bains meets ill students at Hospital, directs strict action against accused

Sangrur: In an unfortunate incident, students in large number fell ill after consuming food from mess of Meritorious School. Unwell students were immediately shifted to civil Hospital Sangrur. Sangrur: In an unfortunate incident, students in large number fell ill after consuming food from mess of Meritorious School. Unwell students were immediately shifted to civil Hospital Sangrur. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains took to X and shared pictures from his visit to Hospital.

In a post, he said, “Reached Sangrur, met with unwell students at Civil Hospital Sangrur, students are fine now & recovering fast. Mostly students are complaining of anxiety. Contractor’s license has been cancelled, also he along with mess incharge has been arrested under Sec 307 IPC.”

Minister further added that Concerned Principal of the school has been suspended for not taking timely action on the complaint of students. It should be noted that as per reports, students of the school have complained about the substandard quality of the food served in the mess. He further added that Teams are monitoring the situation in school and feedback form is also being sent to every student of Meritorious school. Feedback will be monitored by the Head office personally, said Minister.

After the incident came to fore, committee was formed to investigate the matter. As per recent information, all students are stable and out of danger. Accused Maninder Singh alias Montu Vohra, Thekedar (Contractor) of mess of Meritorious school and Parminder Singh, Mess Manager has been arrested.
