Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke said that Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains will hoist the tricolor at Martyr Major Harminderpal Singh Government College, Mohali (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar) on the occasion of Republic Day.
Taking stock of the preparations being done at Government College, Mohali, he directed all the departments involved in the district-level Republic Day program to perform their duties sincerely to make this program of national importance successful.
He said that good preparations should be made with rehearsals for the program starting from January 22 at the college ground. Full dress rehearsal will be held on 24th January which will be done in the presence of Sandeep Garg. He said contingents of police, home guard and NCC cadets would be part of the Republic Day parade. Students from different schools will be a part of the PT show as well as the cultural bouquet. Apart from this, on this occasion, posters regarding welfare and development schemes will be brought out by various departments/self-help groups and exhibition stalls will also be set up.
