Bathinda: An elderly couple was murdered with sharp weapons in Badiala village near Bathinda late last evening. After the matter came into light police officers reached the spot and are engaged in investigating the matter.
Police said that the elderly couple lived alone in Dhani village while their son worked outside. The couple also had one daughter who is married. The entire incident came to light when their son was dialing his father phone late in the evening, but no one was picking up his phone. Their son then informed the villagers and the matter came to light.
Currently, senior police teams have reached the spot and are investigating the matter. Police is investigating the murder case from every angle and trying to ascertain the reasons for the murder.
The bodies have been kept at the Rampura Civil Hospital for postmortem. After post-mortem, the bodies will be handed over to the family for cremation.
