Election Commission’s initiative to increase voting: Airport theme polling booth in Mohali; free mehndi and tattoo facility

To increase the level of voting in the Lok Sabha constituency Shri Anandpur Sahib, the Election Commission has built a super model polling booth on the theme of Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport.

People voting here will feel as if they have come to the airport. Not only this, on showing the voting ink, there will be a chance to get mehndi and tattoo for free. Along with this, people will also be able to taste ice cream.

These are the facilities available in the polling station

This polling booth has been built in Amity International School. It is written above it – Jee Aaya Nu. Below it is written in Punjabi – Apni Udaan for Strengthening Democracy Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport. As soon as you go inside it, there is a flowery gate there. From where there will be a corporate welcome. Here you will be welcomed with the beat of drums.

After this, you will come inside the polling station. There will be a seating facility there. There will be a facility of Chhabil and water for you there. After this you will go inside the polling booth. There will be a help desk there. Where you will be told in which room your vote will be cast.

Along with this you will be given a slip, it will be called a voting pass. You will go to the polling centre with this. After this as soon as you move forward, girls in air hostess dress will welcome you. After this you will vote. Then there will be a model of an airplane, where you will be able to take a selfie after voting.

Specail arrangements for Mehndi, Tattoo and Ice cream for voters

After the voting process, as soon as you come out, there will be arrangements for mehndi and tattoo makers especially for women and girls. They will only have to show their election ink.

After this they will be able to get mehndi or tattoo done for free. While as soon as you start coming out of the centre, there will be an ice cream seller there. You will get ice cream after showing the election ink. Apart from this many other arrangements are being made. The Election Commission claims that this time the voting will cross 70 percent.
