Ludhiana encounter: Gangster of Lahoria gang shot during weapon recovery operation

Ludhiana, May 2: This morning in Ludhiana, Punjab, the police had an encounter with a gangster. The police had come to recover weapons from the gangster. But the accused dodged the police and started firing.

While defending themselves, the police personnel also resorted to cross-firing. During the firing, the gangster was shot. At present, the injured has been admitted to the hospital. The gangster is a henchman of Gopi Lahoria gang.

The police touched the turban of the officer and left

The police personnel had brought gangster Suraj for weapon recovery. The gangster dodged the police personnel and opened fire on them. It has been learnt that a bullet touched the turban of the police personnel and passed by. When bullets were fired from both sides, one bullet hit Suraj’s leg. The blood-soaked gangster has been admitted to the hospital.

On 26 November 2024, he attacked a police officer with his teeth

Gangster Suraj had attacked youths at a birthday party on Tibba Road on 26 November 2024. Suraj had attacked the police personnel of the PCR squad who arrived at the spot. The police was searching for him for a long time in the same case. Many criminal cases are already registered against the miscreant. The police will take the accused on remand when his condition improves.

Police had arrested Suraj from Dehradun-CP Swapan Sharma

The accused were caught by the police from Dehradun. So far, 4 pistols have been recovered from Suraj and his associates. Today, the police brought Suraj to Bagga Kalan for recovery of the pistol. The criminal had already buried the loaded weapon in a pit. As soon as he found the weapon and took it out from the pit, he suddenly opened fire on the police personnel.

He fired two bullets. One bullet touched the turban of employee Ekjot while another bullet missed. When the third bullet got stuck in the chamber, he shot at the leg of the miscreant and subdued him. A total of 5 to 7 shots were fired at the crime scene.

So far 5 members of this gang have been arrested while 4 to 5 criminals are still absconding. It has been learnt that these gangsters are bringing weapons from Madhya Pradesh. Police is also working at the state level to break this chain.
