Encounter between Police and robbers in Samrala; one injured

An encounter took place between Samrala police and robbers at 3 am near a closed brick kiln at Samrala bypass village Bondli. The police had arrested 2 accused last night, who were wanted in a robbery case. When these accused were taken to recover the revolver used in the incident, the accused clashed with the SHO of Samrala police. During this, the accused tried to snatch the recovered revolver from the SHO of the police.

On the spot, the accused Satnam Singh was shot in the leg, and both the accused were arrested. During this clash, the SHO of Samrala police was also injured. The injured accused has been admitted to the Civil Hospital of Samrala.

In this regard, Senior Police Officer Pawanjit Singh informed the press that a few days ago, two unidentified motorcycle-borne robbers opened fire on three migrant workers near the village Dayalpura in Samrala and snatched their motorcycle and fled. During this, one migrant worker was badly injured due to bullet injuries and was referred to a hospital in Chandigarh. In this regard, the SSP of Samrala Police District Khanna formed some teams to catch the culprits.

The police arrested two culprits last night. One culprit is a resident of Sohana’s Chhapdi and the other is a resident of Amritsar.

When the police district Khanna came to know about this incident, a police team, including senior officer,s reached the spot and started investigating. At present, this matter is being investigated in depth.
