Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held meeting with farm leaders today and addressed media after its competition. Calling meeting ‘Successful’, CM said that meeting took place in a good atmosphere. CM Mann will hold meeting with Sugar mill owners on Saturday, i.e. tomorrow after which he will announce the State Advised Price (SAP) of the sugarcane.

Leaders of farmer groups after the meeting said that the CM has assured that after the assembly session, the prices of sugarcane will be increased so much that the rates in Punjab will be the highest in the country.

It should be noted that after getting assurance from CM, agitating farmers have lifted their protest from the railway tracks. With the opening of the tracks, the movement of trains have once again resumed. Agitating farmers have also promised that they will also open the roads.

CM also appealed farmers that blocking roads and railways is never a solution of the problem.  CM assured farmers that in coming days sugarcane growers will be given a gift by the government.
