Farmer leader Dilbagh house arrested in Ludhiana; says ‘government is suppressing our voice today’

Dilbagh Singh said that the state government has removed the Kisan Morcha by force.

This morning in Ludhiana, Punjab, the police have put the head of the Kisan Mazdoor Union, Dilbagh Singh, under house arrest at his home in Jeevanpur. No one is being allowed to come and go to Dilbagh Singh’s house. Police personnel are deployed outside the house.

In the morning, Dilbagh Singh shared the information about the house arrest on Facebook. Dilbagh Singh said that the state government has removed the Kisan Morcha by force. During this, goods worth lakhs of rupees in their trolleys, etc., were destroyed.

Dilbagh Singh said that Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (India) and Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) have announced to hold an ‘anti-coercion dharna’ outside Shambhu police station on 6 May. Dilbagh alleges that during the recent farmers’ movement, the government forcibly removed the protest sites, deceitfully detained the leaders and continued to suppress the farmers and laborers.

Dilbagh said that people are requested to come out of their homes and support the farmers. Farmers are fighting the people’s battle
