Farmers’ Protest: Rahul Gandhi holds telephonic conversation with injured farmer, inquires about well-being

Raja Warring there facilitated a phone call between Rahul Gandhi and the injured farmer.

Patiala: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is leading ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ talked with one of the injured farmers. Farmers have called for Delhi Chalo March and tried to enter the National Capital. To stop the protesting farmers, police forces have deployed barricades on the borders resulting in clashes between farmers and Security forces.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring went to a hospital in Rajpura to meet injured farmers. Raja Warring there facilitated a phone call between Rahul Gandhi and the injured farmer.

In a post on Facebook, Raja Warring said that Rahul Gandhi talked with farmer who is also a former soldier named Gurmeet Singh. The protesting farmer was injured badly injured in the clash. Extending his support to the farmers and their movement, Rahul Gandhi inquired about the well being of the injured famers. Here’s the video shared by him.  

While talking with Rahul Gandhi, Gurmeet Singh can be seen saying that police forces are firing rubber bullets directly at the face. He said that a rubber bullet hit him near the eye but doctors in the hospital saved his eye.

The Farmer who has also served in the army for 17 years said that even in Kashmir, firing would not have done directly at the face or head to disperse people. He added that more than hundred farmers have been injured while some are critically injured and referred to Chandigarh.
