Chandigarh: Today Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with the officials of the electricity department. Farmers should get electricity without any interruption. For this, every issue was discussed in detail.
After the meeting, the CM said that as per the promise, farmers will be given electricity for eight hours without any interruption. Also, the government is fully committed to providing electricity to the farmers during the day.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and all the officials were present in the meeting.
Canal water was released in 6 districts today for the paddy season in the state. During this, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Mansa and Bathinda got canal water. At the same time, the government has appealed to the people to use canal water as much as possible. Earlier, cleaning of canals and other works have been completed.
Department of Punjab, paddy transplantation will start from today in Malwa region, in districts Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, Mansa, Bathinda, Fazilka, Ferozepur, as well as across the barbed wire of the national border. While last year, paddy transplantation in Malwa had started from June 16. In the remaining districts of the state, the date for paddy transplantation has been fixed from June 15. While last year, paddy transplantation started in the last phase from June 21 in 9 districts.
