Fight over Barfi in Khanna, Shopkeeper hit on head with plate

They were admitted to Khanna Civil Hospital. After recording the statements of the injured, the police registered a case against the attackers.

Khanna: A fight broke out over Barfi in Dahedu village of Khanna in the Ludhiana district. Here, some people from the village attacked the shopkeeper and his family members. The shopkeeper was hit on the head with a plate. He was also attacked with bricks. Three people, including the shopkeeper, were injured in the attack.

They were admitted to Khanna Civil Hospital. After recording the statements of the injured, the police registered a case against the attackers. The footage of the fight inside the shop was also captured on CCTV. There was no camera outside the shop.

Dwarka Prasad recorded a statement with the police saying that he runs a shop called Jai Ram Sweet Shop in Dahedu. Amanjot Singh of the village came to his shop to buy goods, and he started eating barfi from the counter. When he stopped Amanjot, he started fighting with him. He was attacked by hitting a plate on his head. Meanwhile, the shopkeeper’s brother Santosh Kumar and sister Nishu arrived. According to Dwarka, hearing the noise, Amanjot’s father, Charan Singh, and 6-7 other people came there. All these people beat him and his siblings. They were attacked with bricks. The shop was vandalized.

In charge of the Kot police station Pragat Singh, who is investigating the case, said that the police have registered a case under sections 115 (2), 118 (1), 324 (4), 191 (3), and 190 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) on the statement of shopkeeper Dwarka Prasad. At present, Amanjot Singh and his father, Charan Singh, have been named. During the investigation, the people whose names come out will be named and arrested.
